Living on Campus

Students in a dorm room.

At Detroit Mercy, we offer more than just an amazing, personalized educational experience. Living in our safe and tight-knit residence halls gives you an opportunity to build friendships with your classmates and make memories that last a lifetime.

We have three unique residence halls on campus where you will live and learn alongside your fellow Titans.

  • Shiple Hall
  • The Quads Complex
  • Holden Hall

Each offers different setups and room layouts, but you can count on living in an air-conditioned space with access to wi-fi, cable television, and other essential features and utilities. The halls are also home to shared spaces like lounges and game rooms where you'll be able to spend time relaxing, studying or working on group projects.

When you live in one of our halls, even your farthest class is just a few minutes from your room. Living with other students means you'll have the support of a community of peers to inspire you to do your best and meet challenges with confidence. In fact, studies have also shown that living in residence halls on campus can improve your overall college performance and chances of successfully graduating.

Experience All That Living on Campus at Detroit Mercy Has to Offer

Living on campus at Detroit Mercy gives you the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of living in a vibrant, major city. And you won't be just another face in the crowd.

We pride ourselves on being a real community, where your professors know your name and interests. You'll get to know your fellow Detroit Mercy students hanging out in our new Student Union, where you'll find a ping pong table and a pool table, breakout rooms for studying and socializing. The Student Union is also one of the many places to eat on campus and is home to the Titan Dining Room and the Loft, which features a Subway, J. Clark's Grille and more.

Our campus is also home to tennis courts, volleyball courts and our 40,000-square-foot Student Fitness Center

Plus, we offer many signature campus events, such as:

  • The Midnight Bike Ride, a nighttime tour of Detroit
  • TitanFest, an annual campus-wide celebration in the fall.
  • De-Stress Fest, a chance to relax and enjoy your time on campus before finals.

Student organizations—including Anime Club, Chemistry Club, the Pep Band, Theatre Company and many more—host diversity and professional events as well. We're also home to a robust Greek life, with numerous sororities and fraternities hosting social and service events and intramural sports.

With so much going on, you can always find something fun to do at UDM.
